Equipment

  • 1 Large baking sheet Line with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup
  • 1 Medium mixing bowl
  • 1 Butter knife or spatula Helpful for spreading butter all the way to the edges

Ingredients

  • 8 slices Texas toast bread Thick cut bread works best
  • ½ cup unsalted butter Softened
  • 4 cloves garlic Minced
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley Finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • In a medium bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic, chopped parsley, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  • Lay the Texas toast slices on a baking sheet and spread the garlic butter evenly over each slice.
  • Bake for 5 minutes until the edges start to turn golden.
  • Remove the tray and sprinkle mozzarella first, then provolone, and finish with Parmesan cheese over the toast slices.
  • Return to the oven and bake for 8–10 minutes until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly, broiling for 1 minute if desired for golden spots.
  • Remove from oven, sprinkle with extra parsley if desired, and serve immediately while warm and cheesy.

Notes

  • This Cheesy Texas Toast is best enjoyed fresh while the cheese is hot and gooey.
  • If you do not have Texas toast, thick cut Italian bread or sourdough works well.
  • For extra garlic flavor, add ¼ teaspoon garlic powder to the butter mixture.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheated in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
  • This recipe is simple, cozy, and one of those little kitchen moments I hope my daughter remembers forever.
